TPS was “unbelievably miserable” already in the morning – the head coach did nothing

The look of TPS was not quite the way a team struggling for the last playoff spots usually has. KalPa put a dull 9-1 score on Niirala’s scoreboard.

Head coach of TPS Tommi Miettinen took the loss into account.

– I raise my hand. I failed to prepare the team for this match, he announced at the press conference.

– We went to pull the morning ice here, and the work was extremely miserable already – but I didn’t intervene in that matter. I trusted and believed that the team understands what we are getting to and what we are doing.

Miettinen is ironic about avoiding injuries.

– When you don’t get on the skin and avoid everything, it’s clear that at least no one can be injured. There can certainly be mental injuries.

KalPa led 3–0 at ten minutes and already 6–1 in the middle of the match.

– The other team had done their preparation work excellently and played good hockey, Miettinen commented.

– This is sport. We are still short. We go up and down. It’s a symptom of something.

TPS hosts Tapparaa on Saturday.

– Again, we are playing for really big things. Our fight continues.
