Jurgen Klopp plans to leave Liverpool after his contract expires in the summer of 2024. “The plan at the moment is for me to do it until 2024, and then it will be: thank you very much,” said Klopp in the run-up to the Premier League duel with West Ham United (from 6:30 p.m. in the TM live ticker). The 54-year-old, while not committing himself 100%, did hint that he could take a break from football.
“I love what I do. But I’ve said it a few times: there has to be something else in the world than just thinking about very talented, good-looking and fantastically nice footballers,” said the 54-year-old.
At the moment he is still “full of energy” for his job. “But we have to make sure that it stays that way,” said the Liverpool coach, who won the Champions League and the first championship in 30 years with the Reds during his tenure since 2015. “You don’t want to end up sitting there tired and thinking, ‘Why does everyone care what’s going on out there? I don’t give a damn.’”

Klopp on decision 2024: “I could book last minute”
“My future will be fine. I don’t need to plan, I could book last minute. Let me put it this way – it’s not a problem. No, the plan is the future of the club that we are constantly working on,” said the coach.
Having won the League Cup last week, Liverpool have three more competitions in the running for a total of four titles this season. According to Klopp, who has been at Anfield for six and a half years, the club will continue to be successful in the future because they have hired the right people. “These people, of which we have a lot here at the moment, will make sure things go well,” said Klopp, “even when I’m gone – whenever that will be.”
