Online retailer introduces more sustainable clothing line

The online giant Amazon has presented its new more sustainable product line Amazon Aware. This includes clothing – such as T-shirts, sweaters and socks, but also jeans and simple dresses –, home textiles and cosmetics.

The products will be made from materials such as recycled polyester, organic cotton and bio-based ingredients, Amazon said. In addition, the products should have third-party certifications.

“We’re committed to developing programs that contribute to a more sustainable future,” said Matt Taddy, vice president of Amazon Private Brands learn and innovate while offering our customers affordable, everyday products, all backed by third-party certifications included in our Climate Pledge Friendly program.”

Amazon Aware is available online in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, UK, Canada and the US. The items in the clothing section range from EUR 17.62 for a three-pack of socks to EUR 55.85 for a Sherpa jacket.
