Nigeria and Ivory Coast have reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations. The “Super Eagles” beat surprise team South Africa 5-3 on penalties on Wednesday evening (07.02.24). Ivory Coast defeated the Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0.
After regular time between Nigeria and South Africa, the score was 1-1 (0-0) after two penalty goals from Nigerian William Troost-Ekong (67th minute) and Teboho Mokoena (90th). In the subsequent extra time, both teams remained scoreless.
The Nigerians are in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2013, where they will face hosts Ivory Coast on Sunday.
