Now an ex-employee of King Charles, who has cancer, is speaking out

Julian Payne, Charles’ former communications secretary, says the king will miss his duties.

Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that King Charles, 75, has cancer. So far, the court has not told what kind of cancer the king has.

Charles’ former communications secretary Julian Payne says in a BBC interview that the court has prepared for similar unwanted situations.

Payne worked for Charles and Camilla for five years – until 2021. He tells the BBC that he is convinced that the king will be happy to return to his public duties when it is considered reasonable.

– He will be deeply frustrated when he can’t go out and meet people.

– He really enjoys it (meeting people). He gets fired up by all the conversations, Payne describes.

Doctors have instructed the king to cancel all his public duties. He still does government affairs and paperwork as usual.

– He is still positive about his treatment and expects to return to work as soon as possible, the release said.

Although the palace has not said what kind of cancer it is, it is known that it is not prostate cancer. Charles was being treated for an enlarged prostate last month.

– During the treatment, another concern was noticed, and later this was diagnosed as cancer, the court’s press release said.

Cancer treatments have already started.
