Will the record champions strike again at RB Leipzig?

Will FC Bayern use RB Leipzig again on the transfer market? Benjamin Sesko is apparently a candidate for the German record champions.

In addition to FC Bayern, transfer reporter Ekrem Konur names Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC and Manchester United as supposedly interested in signing Sesko. According to the journalist, the attacker could leave his club in the summer. Sesko has a contract with RB Leipzig until 2028.

According to “Sky”, the 20-year-old can leave Saxony before the working paper expires thanks to a contractually agreed exit clause of 50 million euros. Sesko moved from RB Salzburg to the reigning cup winners last summer as one of the most sought-after young center forwards in Europe. In return, around 24 million euros went to the sister club.

Sesko has scored nine competitive goals for RB Leipzig so far this season. In the most recent Bundesliga games against VfB Stuttgart (2:5) and 1. FC Union Berlin (2:0), the Slovenian was on the pitch for the full 90 minutes and contributed one goal for his team.

How is FC Bayern planning on the offensive?

What role Sesko really plays in FC Bayern’s squad plans is still completely unknown at this point. The Munich team has a clear top dog on the offensive in Harry Kane. Veteran Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will probably leave the club when his contract expires in the summer. Youngster Mathys Tel is hoping for more playing time.

According to “Bild”, FC Bayern is still interested in Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart. The striker should be able to leave the Swabians in the summer for the fixed transfer fee of around 20 million euros.

It still remains to be seen how the record champions will line up their offensive department for the 2024/25 season.

FC Bayern had already released Dayot Upamecano, Konrad Laimer and Marcel Sabitzer (now at Borussia Dortmund) from RB Leipzig in the past.
