FC Bayern strengthened themselves in the winter with Eric Dier, Sacha Boey and Bryan Zaragoza. Ex-professional Stefan Effenberg believes that one of the new additions in particular will have a defining role for the Munich team.
“I am very sure that he will soon be a regular player on the right side. I am absolutely certain of that,” said Effenberg, referring to Boey, in the “One-two” from “Sport1”.
According to the 55-year-old, Zaragoza will also join FC Bayern. “He’s young and a Spanish international. You shouldn’t forget that. There’s an incredible amount of potential there,” he enthused about the offensive player.
However, Effenberg admitted that the 22-year-old Zaragoza might have to be given some more time. “Maybe give him a few more months until the summer. But even then he will play a role at Bayern Munich,” emphasized the 1992 European runner-up.
Praise for another new signing from FC Bayern
Effenberg rated Eric Dier’s transfer as positive. “With Dier, you can be very happy that they brought him in. He has already played a few games confidently. He hasn’t attracted any negative attention in any way,” he praised the Englishman.
Dier was loaned from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season. The 30-year-old only played a supporting role for the Spusr. The Englishman can prove himself right away at FC Bayern. After all, the German record champions are currently missing two important central defenders: Minjae Kim (international absence) and Dayot Upamecano (torn hamstring).
Boey moved from Galatasaray to Munich for 30 million euros. The Frenchman made his debut against Borussia Mönchengladbach (3-1) when he came on as a substitute around 25 minutes before the final whistle.
FC Bayern had brought forward the transfer of Zaragoza from FC Granada, which had already been bagged for the summer, after Kingsley Coman was injured. The winger is still waiting for his first appearance in the Bayern jersey.
