The AZ fans left the stadium on Sunday afternoon with a cautious smile. Of course they are disappointed about the narrow loss against Feyenoord (0-1), but the supporters are proud of their team again. “We were very happy with AZ’s game.”
The Alkmaar supporters have not often been spoiled this season. The results were inconsistent, but what bothered them most was the way they played. Solid football without any form of spectacle. “Maarten Martens provides a fighting mentality and Pascal Jansen played weak football with his team,” is the reaction of an AZ supporter.
AZ and Feyenoord will meet again on Wednesday. Then in the Rotterdam Kuip for the quarter finals of the KNVB Cup. “I think we’ll do it, 0-2.”
