NBA: Bitter knockout for Maxi Kleber

Strong performances, but no victories: The German basketball players Maximilian Kleber and Isaiah Hartenstein impressed despite defeats in the NBA.

NBA professional Maximilian Kleber suffered a setback with the Dallas Mavericks despite a personal season best. The forward scored 21 points in the home game against the Milwaukee Bucks, but as the Texans’ second-best scorer he was unable to prevent the score from 117:129.

For the guests, the Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo showed a strong performance with 48 points in the duel between the superstars. For Dallas, Luka Doncic from Slovenia excelled with 40 points, 11 assists and 9 rebounds.

Kleber, who recently returned to the floor after a two-month break and was in the starting lineup for the injured Dereck Lively, also recorded three rebounds and two assists. For Dallas it was the 23rd defeat in the 49th game, meaning the Mavericks have to fight hard for the play-offs.

NBA: Knicks star Hartenstein shines again as a rebounder

For Isaiah Hartenstein, a series of nine wins in a row ended with the New York Knicks: The team from the Big Apple had to admit defeat to record champions Los Angeles Lakers 105:113.

Hartenstein once again shone under the basket with 15 rebounds. The 25-year-old also had six points and two assists. For the Lakers, LeBron James (24 points) and Austin Reaves (22) stood out.

Meanwhile, superstar Stephen Curry put on a big show: The exceptional player from the Golden State Warriors scored 60 points – but these were not enough for the Californians to win 134:141 in the overtime drama at Atlanta Hawks.

Curry hit 22 of 38 shots from the field, including 10 of 23 three-point attempts. The point guard’s career high is 62 points, which he scored in a win at the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021.
