RKC Waalwijk lost the match against FC Twente 3-0. The Waalwijkers were able to keep up with coach Joseph Oosting’s team for a long time, but in the final phase they had to recognize their superiority in FC Twente. The winning team consolidated third place with the victory. RKC remains sixteenth.
RKC was missing three suspended players with captain Michiel Kramer, Godfried Roemeratoe and Aaron Meijers. Coach Henk Fraser’s team was dangerous several times before halftime.
Nevertheless, Ricky yan Wolfswinkel scored halfway through the first half. The striker was allowed to show it by coach Oosting and the 35-year-old striker quickly had success. After a cross from Sem Steijn, Michel Vlap put the ball aside with his head. Van Wolfswinkel did not fail from close range (1-0).
In the second half, Twente clearly had the upper hand, although it took a long time before this was reflected in the score. Myron Boadu immediately proved his worth for FC Twente. The attacker, hired from AS Monaco, came on in the 78th minute and scored almost immediately afterwards (2-0).
Boadu was also responsible for Younes Taha’s 3-0, another substitute, in the 81st minute. It remained at that position.
