FC Bayern reacted on the last transfer day with the early transfer of Bryan Zaragoza. The Spaniard was not the only candidate.
FC Bayern were actually only looking for defensive reinforcements on the transfer market. But Kingsley Coman’s absence for at least two months threw the record champions’ plans into disarray. Sports director Christoph Freund worked to immediately guide summer newcomer Bryan Zaragoza to Munich. Freund was successful with this plan, but apparently also had alternatives in his sights.
As the generally well-informed portal “The Athletic” reports, this also included Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Ukrainian winger from Chelsea FC was a candidate for a loan, according to a corresponding report. Mudryk moved from Ukraine to London just a year ago for a transfer fee of up to 100 million euros.
Several media from Germany and the Netherlands had also linked Steven Bergwijn from AFC Ajax from Amsterdam with the Munich team. FC Bayern also thought about a loan deal with him. But that was out of the question for Ajax. The top club wanted to either keep the national player or sell him.
“The future begins now”
However, Bayern scrapped both ideas after talks with Zaragoza club FC Granada resulted in an agreement. Much to the delight of sports director Christoph Freund: “In football you always have to be flexible, and so we have reacted again due to the current situation. Such an agreement involves three parties, and we are happy that Bryan Zaragoza agreed earlier than actually agreed comes to us. Bryan sees his future at FC Bayern – this future begins now. We are very pleased that he will strengthen us in the second half of the season.”
Zaragoza could make his debut for FC Bayern in the league game against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday. The game will be available in the live ticker on t-online from 3:30 p.m.
