Europe’s top clubs are chasing talent Uzun from the 2nd Bundesliga

The winter transfer phase is underway and the German clubs are in the middle of it. Clubs can sign new players until February 1, 2024.

The most important things at a glance

Who will FC Bayern bring in to strengthen their defense? Will striker Serhou Guirassy stay at VfB Stuttgart? And who does Union Berlin want to shoot itself out of the basement with? These and many other questions will be answered this transfer winter. At t-online you can find an overview of the most important rumors and changes from Germany and the world.

Europe’s top clubs are chasing second division talent

Nuremberg’s top talent Can Uzun is apparently still one of the hottest candidates in German professional football for a possible winter sale. As “Sky” reports, Champions League starters Inter Milan and Newcastle United are said to have entered the race for the 18-year-old offensive player from the Franconian second division team.

Accordingly, both clubs have already “declared their interest”. In addition to Inter and Newcastle, according to the TV station, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Fulham, FC Sevilla, Brighton & Hove Albion and FC Vilarreal also showed interest in signing him.

Piccini leaves Magdeburg immediately

Second division team 1. FC Magdeburg has parted ways with Cristiano Piccini. The club announced on Monday that they had complied with the Italian defender’s wishes and terminated his contract with immediate effect. The 31-year-old moved to Magdeburg in September 2022 and scored five goals in 30 games in the 2nd Bundesliga.

“We would like to thank Cristiano for using his CV to join the newly promoted FCM. He was an important anchor for our defense and helped us achieve our goal of staying in the league,” said sports director Otmar Schork. Before his time in Magdeburg, Piccini was active at Sporting Lisbon, FC Valencia, Atalanta Bergamo and Red Star Belgrade.

Fein will play in Germany again in the future

Third division club SC Verl has signed former U21 national player Adrian Fein. The 24-year-old comes on a free transfer from Excelsior Rotterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie. Midfielder Fein comes from FC Bayern’s youth ranks and was once one of the top talents of his year, but he didn’t make his big breakthrough.

He played three Bundesliga games for Greuther Fürth and played 33 times for Hamburger SV in the 2nd Bundesliga. Fein played three times in the Europa League for PSV Eindhoven.

Report: VfB interested in Neuhaus

Will VfB Stuttgart strengthen itself in the six-man position this winter? As “Bild” reports, the Swabians are said to be interested in Gladbach’s Florian Neuhaus. The ten-time national player will initially be loaned out; according to the tabloid, discussions have already been held about a possible transfer.

The sports channel “Sky” described Neuhaus’ potential move as “very cold”. Accordingly, the 26-year-old is “not a winter transfer target” for Stuttgart. The Swabians are rather sparsely manned in the six-man position; Atakan Karazor was suspended against Leipzig. In addition to regular player Angelo Stiller, VfB also has Genki Haraguchi as a regular six-man in the squad as well as the eternal talent Lilian Egloff, who has been missing recently due to repeated injuries.

In the morning, VfB also spoke up. Sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth told Sky: “There is no truth to these rumors.”
