Michael Schumacherin a Ferrari F1 car driven in the 1998 season is auctioned off.

Asked about the German legend-driven F300 duPont Registry on the auction site is a whopping € 4.9 million.

Many things explain the high price. After all, it’s an F1 car, a Ferrari and a Schumacher.

The value of this individual is also enhanced by its story. Schumacher won the 1998 season by driving a Hungarian GP, considered one of the most spectacular in his seven-time world champion career.

Schumacher seemed to miss the race for the McLaren duo Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard feet until Ferrari’s strategic guru Ross Brawn got the idea.

He decided to change the Schumacher race to a three-stop tactic. With intermediate refueling at the time, Ferrari decides to play a risk game.

The middle “stint” Schumacher was refueled with less running water than the two-stop McLarens. Brawn’s idea was to tear up a big enough difference between the rivals who just got fired and those who advanced with a heavy gas load.

The success of the plan required nearly 20 flawless and time-driven rounds. After receiving a request on team radio to drive to his heart’s content, Schumacher put a patch on the floor, knocked out a series of Fastest laps, and rose to the top of the race.

A big thank you for the win goes to Brawn’s tactical insight, but the man has repeatedly thanked the plan for being feasible only thanks to a good driver. Schumacher succeeded.

Schumacher also drove the second race in the car being auctioned. The final race of the season in Japan ended with a puncture and suspension.

When Ferrari flew along the track, Mika Häkkinen’s first Formula One world championship also received its seal.
