The Center for Sociological Research (CIS) will publish this Thursday, at 1:30 p.m., a pre-election survey on the regional elections that will be held in Galicia the next 18th of February. The poll will be known a week before the start of the electoral campaign, on February 2, and after the leaders of the PP and PSOE landed there last weekend as a warm-up for the race to the polls. The main unknown of the elections is whether the popular Alfonso Rueda will manage to revalidate the absolute majority that it inherited from Alberto Núñez Feijóo or, on the contrary, it will open the door to a change of government in the Xunta.
The national pulse between socialists and popular ones, especially on account of the ‘procés’ amnesty laware also marking the Galician pre-campaign, sharing prominence with the controversy over the pellet pouring on the community beaches. The average of all the polls published during this legislature grant a comfortable victory to Rueda’s PP, which could reach 46% of the votes (half a point more than 10 days ago and two points less than in 2020) and give BNG an advantage of about 20 points.

The Galician nationalists, above the 25% of the votes (half a point less than 10 days ago and two points more than four years ago), they would maintain second position without any problem, but their distance from the PSOE, which is now 7 points, has dropped one point in recent days. The socialists would retreat to the 18%, but they have added half a point since 10 days ago. The struggle between Add and Canwho compete separately in these elections, would be resolved in favor of Yolanda Díaz’s coalition.
With these results, the PP would chain a new absolute majority, although with two seats less than currently (from 42 to 40). The BNG (20) would add one deputy and the PSOE (14) would repeat the same result as in 2020. Adding could scratch a record in the future Parliament of Galiciawhere the absolute majority is set at 38 seats.
