Galatasaray Ekmas lost 89-76 away to German representative Telekom Baskets in the first match of Group J of the Basketball Champions League Round of 16.
The first quarter of the match held at the Telekom Sports Hall in Bonn was competitive. Scoring with Walden and Yeboah, the yellow-red team completed the first 10 minutes ahead 25-24. Having difficulty defending its opponent’s attacks in the second period, Galatasaray entered the halftime trailing 47-39.
The yellow-reds brought balance to the game in the second half of the match, but could not take the lead even though they achieved a 54-54 draw in the 27th minute. The third quarter of the match ended with the home team leading 62-56. Galatasaray Ekmas, who could not prevent its opponent from widening the gap in the last quarter, left the court defeated 89-76.
Glynn Watson, who scored 23 points for the home team, Sam Griesel, who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds, and Thomas Kennedy, who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds, were the players who won the game.
For the yellow-red team, Corey Walden and Akwasi Yeboah scored 15 points each, David McCormack and Dee Bost scored 12 points each, Sadık Emir Kabaca scored 9 points, Klemen Prepelic scored 6 points, Miralem Halilovic scored 4 points and Jonah Radebaugh scored 3 points.
