Even with a draw against the Croatians, who were still winless in the second phase of the tournament, on Wednesday (8:30 p.m./ARD and Dyn), the dream of a winter fairy tale is not necessarily over.
The SID has put together possible scenarios for the DHB team to progress.
Germany reaches the semi-finals…
1. … with a win against Croatia.
2. … with a draw against Croatia if Hungary does not win against France AND Austria does not win against Iceland by a margin of more than nine goals.
However, in a possible three-way comparison with equal points with Hungary and Austria, Austria would move into the semi-finals.
