Llively and lively with an iron memory, Giuseppina Patriarca, also known as grandmother Giusy she became Commander of the Italian Republic at the age of 108. Her enviable temper and always ready with a joke, she commented on her high honor by saying: «I have always lived with my heart and never for interests». There is already a lot to learn.

The doyen super grandmother of Abruzzo, born in Montorio al Vomano, in the province of Teramo, on 6 November 1915, since last January 1st it has been at the top of the ranking among the longest-running in the region.
Grandma Giusy, since she was a child, spent her life in L’Aquila, where she lived until tearthquake on April 6, 2009 when his apartment was heavily damaged. From that day she had to move to Sulmona, in the Ovidian city, where a niece made accommodation available to her. She, however, continues to feel like she is from L’Aquila in all respects.
Former teacher still teaches on TikTok
Childless and husband’s widow, taught in the prestigious primary school of the national boarding school of L’Aquila for 41 years. But despite clearly being retired, continues to impart lessons on social media, first and foremost TikTok. The ceremony for the award ceremony turned into a big party in which Giuseppina received the diploma issued by the President, Sergio Mattarella, from the hands of the regional councilor, Marianna Scoccia, the one who started and completed the process.
«I don’t deserve that much. I didn’t do anything special» commented the centenarian amidst the applause of her former students present who obviously dusted off anecdotes and memories: «Serious, honest and dignified, a secular and Christian teacher. He made us do the little things for the month of May to understand our needs and monitor the problems, even within the family” said Antonella, a former student who is now a lawyer.
