Formula 1 | The launch date has been set: Red Bull lets Ferrari and Mercedes go first

Red Bull was the last team to date to announce its launch date for its new car for the 2024 Formula 1 season, putting it right at the back for the time being.

The world champion team will present its new RB20 to the public on Thursday, February 15th, one day later than Mercedes, which had set its launch date that morning.

As things stand, the new Red Bull is the last car that will see the light of day. However, there are still three presentation dates for 2024 with McLaren, AlphaTauri and Haas.

Red Bull is going into the new Formula 1 season as the big favorite and, thanks to its enormous lead, was able to concentrate on the development of the new car early on.

Its predecessor, the RB19, won 21 of 22 races this season, making it the most dominant car in Formula 1 history. Max Verstappen had already secured his third world title in the sprint in Qatar and ended up with 19 wins this season and 575 points.

In the end, teammate Sergio Perez was still able to finish runner-up, even though he came under a lot of pressure at times. The Mexican is allowed to stay in the team in 2024, but he runs the risk of losing his cockpit at the end of the year.

Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull present in quick succession

Red Bull is the third team to announce its launch date on Monday, alongside Mercedes (February 14) and Alpine (February 7). Previously, Williams (February 5th), Sauber (February 5th), Aston Martin (February 12th) and Ferrari (February 13th) had already made nails with their heads.

This means that the presentations by the top teams Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull will take place on three days in a row.

The test drives in Bahrain begin on February 21st, before the season opener will take place at the same location a week later.
