The Swedish security police Säpo has decided together with the national terrorist threat assessment center NCT to raise the threat level of terrorism from an increased threat to a high threat. Raising the threat level means that parties consider Sweden the primary target of a terrorist attack.

Due to the rising threat of terrorism, the authorities consider it unwise to hold large parties in public places. Swedes have usually celebrated in Kungsträdgården, a park in Stockholm, and Sergel Torg, a square in central Stockholm.

The last time Sweden won the under-20 World Cup gold was in 2012. On Friday, it will face the United States in the final, which beat Finland 3-2 in the semi-final match.
