Till Lindemann celebrates his birthday – and has to look back on a troubled year.
Till Lindemann will be 61 years old on January 4th, 2024. If the Rammstein singer had been given a prediction exactly a year ago, on his 60th birthday, that the year 2023 would probably be the most turbulent of his life – wouldn’t he have just laughed?
Possibly yes. But then everything happened very quickly – and in a way that no one could have predicted. At the end of May 2023, serious allegations of abuse were made against Lindemann, first by a woman, then by several women. These allegations spread to members of the band. There were protests before Rammstein concerts, The record company, a radio station and a book publisher turned away from Rammstein or individual musicians in the band. The Berlin public prosecutor’s office investigated Lindemann, but stopped its investigation. The investigation concerned sexual offenses he was accused of and the distribution of narcotics.
Now Lindemann is 61, and he won’t be sitting in silence. A solo concert with his “Lindemann” project is scheduled for Thursday, January 4th: He will perform at the “Centro de las Artes” in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Lindemann is currently on tour on the American continent. Lindemann has a large fan base in Mexico. By the way, tickets for the gig are still available; This is definitely an option “for those who decide at short notice”.
However, unlike at some appearances in his home country, the musician does not have to expect protests against him. Meanwhile, his main band Rammstein has concerts scheduled for summer 2024, including in Germany. There is a good chance that the year will be quieter for him. His supporters are cheering the “outlaw” more than ever.
