A total package of 3 million euros for a six-month loan until the end of the season was mentioned in previous reports. This would cover both the loan fee and the partial payment of Sancho’s salary. “Sky“had already reported on Wednesday evening about an oral agreement between the clubs. Ideally, Sancho should travel to Dortmund’s training camp in Marbella, Spain, which is scheduled to last until January 9th.

There has recently been speculation as to whether the “Red Devils” might be pushing for a sale in order to be able to reinvest the transfer fee. According to English publications, other clubs were also interested in the attacking player, including West Ham United.
Despite the sporting crisis, Sancho has been out of Man United since the end of August with just one win from the last five league games and elimination from the Champions League as bottom of the group. Coach Erik ten Hag had suspended the third-biggest market value loser of 2023 for disciplinary reasons; a departure in the winter has long been considered certain.
In December, a possible swap with Dortmund striker Donyell Malen (24), who was willing to emigrate, was brought into play – but that did not materialize. A little further back, at the beginning of October, BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl even said that bringing Sancho back was “not an issue at all”. However, the football business is notoriously fast-moving and Dortmund is known for being happy to welcome lost sons like Mario Götze, Mats Hummels, Nuri Şahin and Shinji Kagawa back into the family. By the time of his 85 million euro move to Manchester in 2021, Sancho had become one of the most sought-after players in the world at Borussia. At one point, his market value was as high as 130 million euros – today it is still 25 million euros.
