Caming Bakkum may refuse a place this year to a woman who has been staying at the campsite every season for years. The subdistrict court judge in Alkmaar ruled this. The seasonal pitch may be transferred to someone else.
The permanent camper has been at the same location on the campsite for 16 years. Last summer, however, the camper threatened visitors with a firearm after an argument broke out. After the event, the campsite informed the camper in a letter that it would no longer be welcome in the new season.
Camping is camper ‘her life’
The camper said that Camping Bakkum is ‘her life’ and she spends there every weekend from April to October. “There is a village feeling on their field and she would be seriously affected if she were no longer allowed to be there,” the court said.
However, the campsite may refuse her a place. In this case, the interests of the campsite outweigh the interests of the camper because the campsite must take other visitors, atmosphere and safety into account, the judge said.
