Friedrich Moch finished a strong sixth on Monday (January 1, 2024) in Toblach, Italy. With the success of the Norwegian Harald Oestberg Amundsen (52:38.00 minutes), the German was 1:05.05 minutes short of the day’s victory. However, Moch narrowly missed the podium. Second on the day, 32.9 seconds behind, was Erik Valnes, who also came second in the 10 kilometer classic on New Year’s Eve. With Oestberg, Valnes and Jenssen, the Norwegians celebrated a triple triumph on the podium in Toblach. Sunday winner Perttu Hyvärinen from Finland had to give up early and only crossed the finish line in 31st place.
