No appearance at the Pitti Uomo, Frankfurt fashion show only digital

The German men’s fashion retailer Baldessarini has also drawn conclusions from the current development of the Covid 19 pandemic. On Thursday, the company belonging to the Herford clothing group Ahlers AG announced that it had canceled its participation in the world’s leading menswear fair Pitti Uomo in Florence. The day before, Baldessarini had announced that it would present its fashion show in digital form as part of the Frankfurt Fashion Week on January 18.

A participation in the Pitti Uomo, which takes place from January 11th to 13th, could not be held responsible for the label “due to the current Corona situation”, explained Baldessarini in a message. The company had planned to present itself in Florence on an area of 100 square meters “more modern and international than ever”.

“As a responsible brand, we have to protect our customers, partners and employees,” explained Managing Director Florian Wortmann. “We will focus on approaching the upcoming order phase with 100 percent professionalism and passion, even if we unfortunately cannot speak to our customers personally at Pitti Uomo.”

As planned, Baldessarini will present its collection for the autumn / winter 2022 season in Frankfurt as part of a fashion show at the Gibson music club – but not in front of an audience. Interested parties can only watch the show digitally. “We are sticking to the Frankfurt Fashion Week concept and are starting this season with a digital big bang due to the current situation,” said Wortmann in a press release. “This summer we hope to finally offer business partners, key account dealers, journalists and influencers an unforgettable experience live with an extraordinary show format.”
