Glennis Grace unexpectedly came face to face with a group of fifty Jumbo employees. It led to tensions. “You never know how they will react with a few glasses of wine.”
The lives of a number of Jumbo employees will never be the same again after the traumatic events on February 11, 2022. Glennis Grace then decided to take a whole hallway to storm the branch in the Amsterdam Jordaan and that left scars on quite a few people. The scratches on the floor still reveal what happened there.
Fifty employees
Although it is Glennis’ nearest supermarket, it is a good thing that she has been banned from shopping there. But what do we hear now? Did she recently perform for a team of no fewer than fifty Jumbo employees? Yes, they turned out to be in the audience at her Grandeur dinner show.
Marc Forno, who is involved in the dinner show as a producer, confirms the story. “I was a bit scared on a specific day, because I knew that a group of fifty employees from Jumbo were coming to ‘Dinnershow Grandeur’. They had booked before it was known that Glennis would perform with us,” he says in the Party.
Have a few glasses of wine
So Jumbo books tickets for a dinner show and then suddenly they are presented with Glennis? Did they still want to come? “I had the group call to ask if they had a problem with Glennis being there, but that was not the case. It was another Jumbo branch, just having a fun night out with colleagues.”
Still, Marc was a bit nervous. “Deep down you never know how people will react after a few glasses of wine, but they were dancing. It went fantastic, Glennis sang like crazy. She’s really great.”
Financial fiasco
Marc was a bit nervous about bringing in Glennis. “I was curious how the audience would react to it; did we take a financial risk or not? But like I said: the audience reacted great, the hall was completely full.”
He concludes: “I just can’t say whether that is because of Glennis or because people wanted to come to Dinnershow Grandeur anyway. Whatever it is, I’m certainly very happy with it.”
