Efteling has placed concrete blocks, a post and a boulder on the road in front of the entrance. The amusement park does this after a 25-year-old man drove into the entrance building with his Ford Focus on Tuesday. A saliva test showed that he was under the influence of drugs.
“We want to maintain the safe feeling,” Efteling says about the measures. They do not see the incident as a reason to panic, but they still want to take responsibility. “It should be a fun, carefree day out. Now it was a false alarm, but we’re erring on the side of caution.”
Aesthetic enhancement
That is why the path to the entrance is now blocked by a post, concrete blocks and a boulder. Efteling does not yet know exactly how long this setup will remain. But the amusement park hopes to at least improve it aesthetically soon. “With cozy concrete blocks,” says a spokesperson.
