The holidays are just around the corner and the hunt for the last gifts begins. Fashion retailers and department stores therefore entice visitors with festively decorated shop windows and other presentation areas. Whether it’s a Christmas tree, artificial snow or sparkling fairy lights, nothing should be missing during the Christmas season. FashionUnited has put together the most dazzling presentations from fashion houses around the globe that will make eyes light up and immerse visitors in Christmas worlds.
Lodenfrey – Munich
The German clothing retailer Lodenfrey had the shop windows of its flagship in Munich designed by the German-Persian graphic designer and fashion journalist Jasmin Khezri. In addition to richly decorated Christmas trees, colorful illustrations of wintry scenarios provide a modern touch that is also intended to appeal to younger audiences. A snowy winter house next to the store’s main entrance presents decoration and gift ideas, all of which can be purchased at Lodenfrey.
Valentino at Harrods – London
Valentino relies on the color pink – of course once again. The Italian brand’s ‘Pink PP’ line covers the shop windows of the British luxury department store Harrods in the glow of its characteristic color during the holidays: lavishly packaged gifts are piled up in the displays next to accessories from the current Valentino collections. A nine-meter-long Christmas tree bearing the brand’s logo sits in front of the shopping center’s Hans Crescent entrance. Next to him, a food truck serves hot chocolate and treats – also in Valentino style.
Ralph Lauren in KaDeWe Group department stores – Berlin, Munich and Hamburg
The German luxury department store operator KaDeWe Group also didn’t miss out on giving its eponymous store in Berlin, the Alsterhaus in Hamburg and the Oberpollinger in Munich a festive look. The US fashion group Ralph Lauren was allowed to do this this year Design of the shop windows take over: In addition to sleigh-riding teddy bears and traditional hut flair, the winter collection can be discovered in front of a snowy Christmas landscape. KaDeWe also has a brand pop-up with an in-house café that serves visitors with warm drinks and sweets.
Dior at Saks – New York
A special Christmas spectacle can be observed at New York’s Saks on Fifth Avenue: The French fashion house Dior has transformed the ten-story facade of the luxury department store into a ‘carousel of dreams’ using a work of art with watercolor effects and three-dimensional metal elements. When it gets dark, around 300,000 LED lights illuminate the building, and a medley of Christmas songs underlines the atmosphere.
The windows recreate “an enchanting story about Monsieur Dior’s dream journey from Paris to Saks’ hometown, New York City” using animated projections and images of typical city landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. The theme of the carousel installation continues inside the department store, where haute couture models from Dior are displayed on the sales floor.
Anya Hindmarch – London
Visitors to British accessories and bag designer Anya Hindmarch’s ‘Village’ store on Pont Street in London’s Chelsea district can look forward to a dreamy Christmas flair. With a specially painted red facade illuminated by fairy lights, the pop-up, ‘Anya’s Grotto’, creates a radiant Christmas oasis. If booked in advance, children can look forward to an adventurous tour with Santa Claus, which ends with a Christmas story by the fireplace. Gift ideas round off the shopping experience.
Brunello Cucinelli at Harrods – London
The Italian fashion house defies the bitter cold Brunello Cucinelli at Harrods, London. The shop windows, framed by ice blocks and cones, provide a view of a winter landscape in which arctic hares and foxes frolic. White-designed sales areas present a neutral-colored collection to match the season. The design concept ‘Solomeo in White’ takes its name from Cucinelli’s small home village of Solomeo in Umbria and is intended to evoke the snow that is often longed for in winter.
Aigner at the Charles Hotel – Munich
In the Charles Hotel in Munich, the German luxury label Aigner is redefining Christmas tree decorations: the ‘Cybill’ bag decorates this year’s Christmas tree in the hotel foyer. The mini version made of gold-colored paper can be found on the richly decorated tree alongside leather balls and bows bearing the brand emblem. A comprehensive area invites you to relax with cushions from the Home and Living collection. 24 daily winners of the Advent calendar can look forward to gifts from Aigner.
“In the run-up to Christmas, we consciously celebrate the contemplative and special moments and the anticipation for the most important Christian festival increases,” said Sibylle Schön, Managing Director of Aigner. “That’s why we’re very pleased that we can bring the guests of The Charles Hotel into a festive mood with our Aigner Christmas tree and Advent calendar.”
