The European Conference League Group stage was completed with 16 matches played in 8 groups. In Group H, Fenerbahçe beat Spartak Trnava 4-0 at home and advanced to the last 16 rounds as the leader. Beşiktaş in Group D defeated Lugano 2-0 away and got its first win in the group and bid farewell to the tournament.
FENERBAHCE RISED TO THE NEXT ROUND AS THE LEADER
Fenerbahçe, our representative in the UEFA Europa Conference League, hosted Slovakia representative Spartak Trnava in its 6th and last match in Group H. The match played at Ülker Stadium was managed by Aleksandar Stavrev from the North Macedonian Football Federation. Stavrev’s assistants were Dejan Kostadinov and Goce Petreski. Fenerbahçe won the match with a score of 4-0. The goals that brought the victory to the yellow-dark blue team were scored by Ferdi Kadıoğlu in the 36th minute, Takac’s own goal in the 48th minute, and Dzeko in the 59th and 61st minutes. On the other hand, Fenerbahçe’s Tadic could not take advantage of the penalty kick in the 48th minute of the match. Following this result, the yellow-dark blue team finished Group H as the leader with 12 points and advanced directly to the round of 16.
BEŞİKTAŞ WON THEIR LAST MATCH AND SAID GOODBYE
Beşiktaş, another of our representatives in the Conference League, faced the Swiss team Lugano in its last match in Group D. Polish referee Pawel Raczkowski blew the whistle in the match played in Letzigrund. Raczkowski’s assistants were Pawel Sokolnicki and Radoslaw Siejka. Beşiktaş won the match 2-0. The goals that brought the victory to the black-white team were scored by Cenk Tosun in the 36th minute and Emrecan Terzi in the 88th minute. On the other hand, in the 90th minute of the match, Steffen in Lugano and Oxlade-Chamberlain in Beşiktaş were sent off with a red card. Following this result, the black-whites got their first victory in Group D and said goodbye to the European cups.
