That afternoon, VfB Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen faced each other in the top game of the Bundesliga, and just a few hours later the two clubs were mentioned in the same breath again: the strong teams will duel again in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup. This was the result of the draw for the round of the last eight in the German Football Museum on Sunday evening. The next opponent of Bayern- and Frankfurt-Schreck 1. FC Saarbrücken has also been determined.
The only remaining third division team faces Borussia Mönchengladbach. Hertha BSC and 1. FC Kaiserslautern as well as FC St. Pauli and Fortuna Düsseldorf also meet.

U17 world champion coach Christian Wück was the draw manager, and the tickets were drawn by his assistant Jens Nowotny.
The quarter-final games will take place on the 30th/31st. January and on the 6th/7th Held in February. The semi-finals are for the 2nd/3rd. April, the final will take place on May 25th in Berlin.

The following other games were drawn: winner from Kickers Offenbach/FC Bayern Munich – Carl Zeiss Jena, Bayer Leverkusen – SGS Essen, winner from Eintracht Frankfurt/SC Freiburg – MSV Duisburg.
The women will play their quarter-final games from March 5th to 7th, with the final taking place on May 9th in Cologne.
