On the other hand, in Okhtyrka, in the Sumy region (northeast), more than 70 Ukrainian military and civilians were killed in the shelling of the enemy with multiple Grad launchers, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi wrote on Facebook. “There was a very heavy shelling of the military unit in Okhtyrka, the military unit, unfortunately, was completely destroyed. More than 70 military personnel were killed and civilians as well,” he said, reporting that there were also casualties in the Russian ranks. According to him, since the night of this March 1, the situation in the north of the region is more or less stable, but Konotop, in the Sumy region as well, is still besieged by the Russian Army. “Sumy is under siege, but we are repelling enemy checkpoints, some groups are breaking through. More than a dozen units of enemy equipment have been destroyed today,” Zhyvytskyi said, adding that locals use Molotov cocktails and destroy enemy vehicles. He also said that the city of Lebedyn, in the same region, is under siege.
