Injured against Stuttgart
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim will have to do without the two midfielders Dennis Geiger and Sebastian Rudy for the time being. In the 2-1 win against VfB Stuttgart last Friday, Geiger was carried off the field in a daze after two collisions with opponents and then spent the weekend in the head clinic of Heidelberg University Hospital. The 23-year-old will pause for a few more days “to be on the safe side”, the Kraichgauer announced on Monday.
Rudy, who came on for him, also injured himself in the course of the game and tore a muscle fiber in his left rear thigh. The 32-year-old will therefore not be available “for the time being”, TSG said without naming an exact downtime. Hoffenheim take on 1. FC Köln on Sunday (5:30 p.m.) and host FC Bayern Munich in Sinsheim on Saturday.
