PSV and Feyenoord already took action on Thursday. That had everything to do with a possible decision in the Champions League next week. PSV won 2-0 against Heerenveen and Feyenoord almost choked on FC Volendam. In De Kuip it became 3-1 after two very late goals. In the AD Voetbalpodcast, Etienne Verhoeff discusses those duels with Leon ten Voorde and also the search for the ideal reserve.
“PSV does what it has to do. You can feel from everything that PSV will win that match, despite the chances for Heerenveen in the beginning,” Ten Voorde looks back on the match in the Philips Stadium. “They are also working on an unlikely series. You start to wonder whether a club has ever become undefeated champions. Where is this PSV still missing points?”
Feyenoord played with difficulty against a defensive Volendam. “Feyenoord was hit hard by that defeat against PSV and the elimination in the Champions League. But how quickly things can go. We thought Feyenoord was the best footballing team until recently and in two weeks we think differently about that.”
