The Danes arrive with a clean slate: twelve points from four games speak for themselves. In the first leg, Germany lost 2-0. It was the first game since the early exit from the World Cup and the players were still very nervous. However, Denmark will have to do without their best player in the second leg because FC Bayern’s Pernille Harder is out due to injury. The Danish starting eleven is spread across clubs across Europe, the most experienced are certainly Kühl (Arsenal), Svava (Real Madrid) and Vangsgaard (PSG). The latter shot the guests to victory with a brace in the first leg.

Horst Hrubesch is responsible for the runner-up European champions for the third time and sends the following eleven onto the pitch: Frohms returns in goal after recovering from injury, and a well-rehearsed duo from Wolfsburg with Hendrich and Hegering plays in central defense. Gwinn and Linder are currently placed in outside defense. Däbritz and Nüsken play in the defensive midfield – this combination has never existed before. However, Oberdorf, a regular player in this position, is not there due to injury. Huth and Bühl should build steam on the outside, Lohmann plays as a hanging point behind captain Popp.

Around 18,000 spectators are expected this evening in frosty temperatures in northern Germany. The DFB team is playing in Rostock for the first time and the premiere is a groundbreaking game: In order to get closer to the 2024 Olympic Games, Germany absolutely has to win the group in the Nations League. Today’s opponent from Denmark is in this position and the gap is three points. A win with a difference of at least two goals would bring interim coach Horst Hrubesch’s team closer to their dream of reaching the final tournament.
