Actor Matthew Perry, who became famous for his role as Chandler Bing in the Friends series, died a month ago at the age of 54. Now the actor’s stepfather Keith Morrison76, broke her silence and wrote on the messaging service X remembering Perry.
Writing in X on Monday, Morrison asked people to take heart and donate to the Matthew Perry Foundation on Giving Tuesday, which is billed as a “global day of giving.”
– This is not something I usually do. But this year is different. And tomorrow is Giving Tuesday. Do what you can; he would have been grateful, Morrison wrote.
Morrison is a Canadian journalist and has been a correspondent for NBC’s Dateline since 1995.
The Matthew Perry Foundation was established after the actor’s death. The goal of the foundation is to support other drug addicts. Perry has spoken publicly about her decades-long struggles – including alcohol and opioid addiction. According to his own estimate, Perry spent millions of euros on drugs and alcohol during his life.
Perry died on October 28 when police found him dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home.
Friends actress Jennifer Aniston also took part in her Instagram story on Tuesday to encourage people to support the Matthew Perry Foundation.
