Jimi Hendrix was just 27 years old and yet he managed to become a guitar legend at such a young age. His live performances were a once-in-a-lifetime experience for everyone in attendance. Photographs of these moments have lasted for decades and have not lost their fascination since then.

1. “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” (Maui, 1970)

Jimi Hendrix had one of his last live performances in the Hawaiian region of Maui. His show there is one of the few released as an original live version with video by Jimi Hendrix’s official YouTube channel.

2. “Purple Haze” (Atlanta, 1970)

The Atlanta Pop Festival has not been called the “Woodstock of the South” for good reason. Jimi Hendrix gave everyone in attendance a truly explosive performance and to this day his appearance on the festival stage is considered one of his finest moments.

3. “Foxey Lady” (Miami Pop Festival, 1968)

The live album for the event was justifiably released in 2013, MIAMI POP FESTIVAL. Many years after the death of the guitar god, his live performances are still relevant and even the recordings still impress with their unique atmosphere. This also applies to the live performance of “Foxey Lady”, a song from the debut album ARE YOU EXPERIENCED.

4. “Wild Thing” (Monterey Pop Festival, 1967)

A few years before the release of the live record MIAMI POP FESTIVAL that already appeared LIVE AT MONTERY-Album – 2007. While the 1967 festival as a whole led to disappointments after some planned acts such as the Rolling Stones and the Beatles were not on stage, Hendrix’s gig was even more convincing.

6. Hendrix’s last festival (Fehmarn, 1970)

Hendrix had his last festival appearance in Germany at the Love & Peace Festival over 50 years ago. He died a few days later, on September 18, 1970. To honor him and his legendary performance, a memorial stone on the North Sea island commemorates the exceptional artist today.
