In the committee of inquiry into sexual abuse in the Church, sociologist Jan Hertogen, who was himself a victim of abuse, argued on Monday for the establishment of a central register of victims and perpetrators. According to him, this could also shed light on “the systematic nature of the abuse, depending on the locations where it took place”.
