Forced break due to pyrotechnics from Hertha fans

In front of 45,000 spectators, both teams made a lot of mistakes at the beginning. The Berliners successfully disrupted Hanover’s build-up game and were rewarded after half an hour with Niederlechner, who converted a precise cross from Fabian Reese with a direct pass. After further preparatory work by Reese, Klemens increased the score from eleven meters shortly before the half-time whistle.

After an hour, the numerous Hertha fans who had traveled along set off pyrotechnics and caused a two-minute interruption. Then Phil Neumann wasn’t really attacked and successfully put Nielsen in the spotlight. Voglsammer used a long ball from Marcel Halstenberg to make it 2-2.
