Watzke offered help
Second division club FC Schalke 04 will prematurely end their cooperation with Russian sponsor Gazprom as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The board of directors decided this with the approval of the supervisory board, the club announced on Monday.

Great demand for Schalke special jerseys – shop overloaded
The demand for the Schalke special jerseys without the previous Russian main sponsor Gazprom on the chest is so great that the online shop of the second division club was overloaded on Monday. “We ask you for a little patience”, the online shop is reaching its limits, the club tweeted. In the away game on Saturday in Karlsruhe (1-1), the S04 pros wore the lettering “FC Schalke 04” instead of the controversial sponsor’s name on their chests. The jerseys in Schalke’s founding colors of red and yellow have been on sale in limited numbers since Monday.
