Unew one teen series to the delight of teenagers and fans of Sea outside. We are legend (from tonight at 9.20pm on Rai 2, Rai Play and from November 23rd also on Prime Video) is not set in a prison, but the team is mostly that of the successful series: Carmine Elia directs and then we meet again Nicolas Maupas (also in the series A professor), Valentina Romani and Giacomo GiorgioFilippo Ferrari, the Naditzca and the Cyrus of Sea outside.
The protagonists are Roman boys. They are 17 or 18 years old, they are experiencing a complicated period of life and, right at the peak emotional overexposure, they discover they have gods superpowers. Will they be able to handle them? It’s not a style series Marvelthere are no hyperbolic missions to accomplish and no universes to save or supervillains to fight, here the powers are the symptoms of malaise and fear of growing up.
We are legend: the plot of the first episode
The protagonists of the new teen seriesproduced by Rai Fiction and Fabula Pictures, are five kids who are entering the adult world. The incredible powers that they discover they have are a metaphor for their difficulties.
In the first episode we get to know them all in general and more closely Massimo (Emanuele Di Stefano), a boy who is overwhelmed by immense pain: loses his mother Michela (Raffaella Rea), with whom he lived and with whom he had a symbiotic relationship. An episode that stuns emotionally. The boy is disoriented and scaredsuddenly finds himself in his aunt Simona’s house (Claudia Pandolfi), for which he has no sympathy, on the contrary. The two will treat each other’s wounds.
He will have to make his way back out of the abyss. And in the hospital, while passing a certain Lara in the corridors (Valentina Romani), something strange manifests itself, similar to a superpower: land his hands become fire and melt any metal. At first Massimo is dazed, then he will know how to use that “weapon”. Also attending Massimo’s high school, Andrea and Marco are Andrea’s older brother, the self-centered Nicola (James George), Marco’s sister, Viola (Margherita Aresti), for whom Massimo has a weakness, the new arrival and son of his father Jean (Nicolas Maupas), «an outcast who doesn’t accept his parents’ advice – as the actor says – and who in order to grow will have to start listening. His point of reference is Greta (Sofya Gersevich ed.), best friend: together they share fears and dreams».

There are also there bullied Lin (Giulia Lin), second generation Chinese, and the bulla Sara (Beatrice Vendramin), Nicola’s partner. The first of her is a complex girl who must learn to love herself; the second “she’s the classic high school bully who thinks she’s the queen of the school and what’s more she’s engaged to the handsomest guy – says Vendramin – she is actually very fragile: she is just a teenager who wants to be loved».
Greta, of German origins, is the daughter of the ambassador to the Vatican. Apparently he comes off as snobbish, but in truth he has a deep trauma to overcome and a sense of guilt that does not abandon her.

Friendship is the real superpower of the series
We are legend it’s not about a group of superheroes, but of teenagers and friends who have to face the difficulties of their age, the dark moments and the adult world that is nearby. The powers arrive suddenly, despite themselves. But they are a metaphor for their hardships. Who has never wanted to be visible? «They are internal powers that express discomfort and the fear of growing up – explains Carmine Elia – here the Marvel-style powers are inserted into a realistic context.
