After the fatal shooting of teacher Carolin G. (40) on the A9 near Brück, the Potsdam public prosecutor’s office has brought charges against two men.
They are accused of common murder, the authorities announced on Friday. They are said to have murdered the woman “treacherously and with base motives using a firearm.” The public prosecutor’s office initially did not provide any further information.
Shortly after the arrest of the two suspects, BZ learned that it was her ex, the father of their child, and a suspected contract killer.
The murder mystery
Carolin G. was a math and art teacher at the Brück high school (Potsdam-Mittelmark), very popular, and the mother of a three-year-old child. On May 10th, she was shot dead in her Hyundai on the hard shoulder of Autobahn 9 after an accident. There has been no trace of the killer so far.
The circumstances indicate that the shooter must have been sitting in the car. According to BZ information, the victim had three bullet holes in his body.
Because there was hardly any evidence of the perpetrator a few weeks after the crime, the responsible public prosecutor’s office even offered a reward for information.
Two weeks after the mystery murder, the police carried out a large-scale manhunt on the A9. On May 26th, the teacher was buried with great sympathy and 100 mourners said goodbye.
Ten weeks after the crime, an investigating judge issued the arrest warrants requested by the public prosecutor.
