Eilish says in the interview that she also loves women, but is intimidated by them and hates social double standards.
Billie Eilish’s love life has often been a topic of public debate. Just after she wrote “I love women” in an Instagram post for her music video “Lost Cause,” new discussions were started and she was even accused of queerbaiting, precisely because in the past she was only seen dating men and not women* saw.
Eilish is physically attracted to women
Is it all a set-up or does Eilish also love women? In an interview with the US magazine “Variety”, the 21-year-old addressed this topic and said: “I never really felt like I could relate well to women. I love her so much. I love them as people. I am attracted to them as people. I’m really attracted to them.”
Eilish then continued: “II have deep connections with the women in my life. […] I am physically attracted to them. But I’m also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence.”
Billie Eilish frustrated by double standards
In the conversation with Variety, the singer also reported that she had been frustrated in the past by the double standards with which men and women were discussed in public. She would have used her clothing as a protective shield for herself and her body. Specifically, she said: “Nobody ever says anything about men’s bodies. If you’re muscular, cool. If not, cool. If you’re skinny, cool. If you have a daddy body, cool. If you’re chubby, love it! Everyone is happy with it. Do you know why? Because women are nice. They don’t give a shit because we see people for who they are.”
