Fenerbahçe, which returned from Adana Demirspor away with a 0-0 draw in the 12th week of the Trendyol Super League, had a big reaction to the referee’s decisions. Making a statement about the situation between Adana Demirspor’s Rodrigues and Fenerbahçe’s Jayden Oosterwolde in the 73rd minute of the match, the yellow-dark blue club said, “Is it a street fight or a football match?” he captioned it.
The statement made by the club is as follows:
STREET FIGHT OR FOOTBALL MATCH?
Yesterday, in the 73rd minute of our away match against Adana Demirspor, we were again subjected to a strange referee decision after the opponent football player Rodrigues made a move against our player Oosterwolde.
Finally, based on yesterday’s position, isn’t it normal for us to question the fact that the referee decisions in the matches we played are far beyond their faulty definition?
Even if we somehow accept that the match referee cannot see the position, the linesman cannot see it, and even the 4th referee cannot see it.
How should we react to VAR stepping in and not taking any steps to correct this decision?
Is there an institution or person who will take responsibility for the increasing intensification of these wrong decisions, match by match, that completely affect the league race?
How long will this situation be normalized?
To understand the situation more clearly;
We present to the information and attention of those who “DIDN’T SEE” the comments on the position where everyone who speaks, writes, draws, watches and can SEE, on behalf of Turkish football, comes together on a common ground.
What was said about Rodrigues’ intervention against Oosterwolde in the 73rd minute:
Bulent Yildirim: After what happened between Belhanda and Oosterwolde, it is right that both players received yellow cards. So far it can be experienced within football. Then Rodrigues comes and kneels on Oosterwolde’s throat. Ndiaye comes and puts his knee. This isn’t football anymore, this is fighting. It is not acceptable not to get a red card from here. Oosterwolde couldn’t breathe. They took the man and threw him to the ground. Rodrigues 100% should have received a red card. If you manage a match like this in the Champions League, you will have to bear the consequences.
Bahattin Duran: They turned it into a street fight. Rodrigues’ hand is on Oosterwolde’s throat. I can’t understand why Rodrigues and Ndiaye went without a card. I cannot accept that the referee committee did not show cards to these two players. If we have these images, VAR also has them. Rodrigues’ action had to be intervened due to a red card. I can’t believe he passed without a red card.
Sea Shepherd: Which referee can see these happenings in football? Two people tackle a player to the ground. The referee tried to look cute by throwing a man off the bench, that’s how I understood it. I couldn’t believe my eyes that there was no red card here. I questioned myself when I saw the VAR appointments today. It looks like we didn’t tell a single truth last night. Whomever we saw at fault last night, they were all assigned to the match today. I think this image is the night of shame for Turkish football.
Bünyamin Gezer: Who is causing a stir? Rodrigues creates this incident, grabs his throat, holds him and throws him into the bag, threatening the opponent’s safety. You have no right to do this. While the two players who have calmed down are carded, Rodrigues, who caused these events, takes the man to the ground, God forbid, he might get a concussion. You are endangering the health of your rival athlete. Rodrigues should have received a red card in this position. VAR should have stepped in. The referee should have watched this position.
Fırat Aydınus: No football player comes with the intention of separating his opponent or teammate like this. There is no such separation. Even outside, if you want to intervene, you push him in the chest with your hand. Have you ever witnessed his neck being held while breaking up a fight? Rodrigues’ ‘way of separating’ is never intended to separate. Rodrigues chokes Oosterwolde and takes him down. This is a clear red card.
Deniz Ateş Bitnel: It is right that two players received yellow cards in the Oosterwolde-Belhanda argument, but Rodrigues, who hugged Oosterwolde’s throat and knocked him to the ground, should have received a red card.
Erman Toroğlu: Don’t forget Halil Umut Meler’s kindness, he made dressings, so VAR looked at it.
Ahmet Çakar: 6 eyes see Oosterwolde’s position. If you grab a man’s neck on the street and throw him to the ground, it starts from 6 months all over the world.
Tahir Kum: Adana Demirspor needed to finish the match with 8 men. Is there anyone who says Rodrigues’, Belhanda’s and Balotelli’s positions are not red cards?
Sinan Engin: I hated this group of referees. There are two red cards. Belhanda’s position is an explosive red card. Galatasaray lost in Hatay and they were in the mood to settle the match 0-0. They throw the child to the ground. Could such a thing happen? Rodrigues’ position is a clear red card.
Rıdvan Dilmen: VAR referee Suat Arslanboğa is clearly wrong! Kevin Rodrigues had to be kicked out.
Batuhan Karadeniz: Rodrigues grabbed the Fenerbahçe player (Oosterwolde) by the throat and threw him to the ground with a thrusting motion. If he were on the street, his next move would be a fist. Again nothing.
Ender Bilgin: The move to Oosterwolde is officially off. Rodrigues could have received a yellow card here.
Halil Özer: If you showed Jayden’s position in FIFA today, they would take Halil Umut Meler’s cockade off. Officially a lynching attempt. And strangely enough, there isn’t even a yellow card. Neither the referee, nor the VAR, nor the linesman, nor the 4th referee. It happens in front of everyone’s eyes. There is no click from one of them. It’s like they’ve all been pinned down. TFF must definitely disclose the records of this incident. Why did the referees not see this incident? Because this is not a penalty or a normal foul moment. You can comment on those positions. But this is open to interpretation. Clearly Greco-Roman. Either Judo or Jime. You know, I haven’t even gotten to Belhanda and Balotelli yet. This is more than enough. Still, let the referee go to bed and pray for the players who were left out of the incident and tried to calm the incident.
İlker Yağcıoğlu: Red card.
Tugay Kerimoğlu: Red card.
Mehmet Özdilek: Red card.
Şenol Ustaömer: The gestures Oosterwolde and Belhanda make to each other are not that harsh. But the move Rodrigues made is unbelievable, I have difficulty understanding why a football player would do this. Halil Umut Meler should have shown a yellow card to both of them.
As a club, I will punish these two players, the president of Adana Demirspor will punish these two players. Even if I were a teacher, I would hold him accountable for this.
Reha Kapsal: If a player was to be ejected in the match, Rodrigues should have been ejected.
