Maarten van Rossem receives support from VI gentlemen: ‘Riot? Could be!’

Maarten van Rossem is normally only vilified in Today Inside, but now that they have a common enemy – ‘such a woke lady’ – he suddenly receives their support.

The changes in life are sometimes impossible for the older generation to keep up with. This is no longer allowed, this is no longer allowed. Some seniors get tired of it or simply miss the feeling of what is still possible in society and what is no longer accepted by everyone. And Maarten van Rossem has now experienced that generation gap on the radio.

Like-minded with VI

Maarten, now 80 (!) years old, was reprimanded by Mischa Blok when he very casually said the word ‘riot’ twice during their conversation. According to her, that is hurtful to some people. And the jury member of De Slimste Mens responded a bit irritably. “Cousy behavior? What’s against that? Never any behavior then?”

Hey, are we hearing a VI-like sound here? ‘Fuck with woke and I just say niece’? Damn, after a period of polarization between Maarten and the VI trio, they find each other here as like-minded people. And suddenly the maligned TV star gets the entire VI table.

Wokemiss

Johan Derksen is very surprised about it. “I heard that Maarten van Rossem is not allowed to say riot on the radio,” he notes Today Inside.

Colleague René van der Gijp: “With Mischa Blok.”

Wilfred Genee: “That was about Willem Oltmans, right?”

Johan: “Well, if anyone is well characterized, it is Willem Oltmans. That was a real riot. But then a Mischa Blok, you know… She’s such a woke lady and then I think: I think she wants very boring, good people, but colorful people who say something nice for once are not with her welcome.”

For the stage

Johan is annoyed by Mischa. “I think it’s a shame that those kinds of ladies want to be good on stage.”

Wilfred: “Yes, but I think it’s not too bad with her, because I’ve experienced her before.”

Johan: “I find this quite shocking.”

Wilfred: “It’s more that she just asks.”

Özcan Akyol is completely team-Johan in this: “The word police. That you have to watch your words.”

Fat Van Dale

Johan grabbed the dictionary. “I looked it up in the Dikke Van Dale and it is just a very normal expression that can be used.”

Did he really open the dictionary? “I really looked it up. I still have an old Dikke Van Dale. That’s very old-fashioned, but I like it better than looking it up on the internet. It says riot with a neat description and that characterizes Oltmans exactly.”

Wilfred concludes: “Yes, you can say that. That was quite a riot, yes.”
