BVB flies out of the Europa League
BVB was kicked out of the Europa League on Thursday evening. After losing the Champions League in December, the trip to Europe’s second largest club competition came to an end after two duels with Rangers from Glasgow.
A 2: 2 (2: 1) at the Rangers was not enough for the DFB Cup winner on Thursday at Ibrox Stadium after the 2: 4 in the first leg of the playoffs to qualify for the round of 16.
James Tavernier (22nd, penalty kick/57th) scored both Rangers goals in the Scottish champions’ stadium, which was sold out with 50,000 spectators. Jude Bellingham (31st) and Donyell Malen (42nd) scored for BVB. The round of 16 will be played on March 10th and 17th.
