The day after leaving Rome, volleyball star Celeste Plak appears again in Turkey

Things can move quickly at Celeste Plak. The volleyball player from Tuitjenhorn yesterday suddenly broke with her club Roma and has already found a new club. The 28-year-old diagonal player signs with the Turkish Besiktas.

Plak ended her stay in Rome after the Italian club failed to fulfill contractual agreements. The circumstances for her were also “not sufficient for optimal preparation for qualification towards the 2024 Games”. She described the period as “short but intense”.

“When I let my agent know that I wanted to look for a new club, Beşiktaş was the first to come forward,” Plak told NOS. “A club that has been competing in the highest league for years. The sports structure is well organized. and the head coach is Gianni Caprara, an old acquaintance.”

Plak has played in Turkey before. In the 2019/20 season she was under contract with Büyükşehir Belediyespor.
