International Celeste Plak no longer plays volleyball for Roma Volley. The 28-year-old player from Tuitjenhorn reports via social media that the adventure is over after a few months.
“Roma Volley and I decided to part ways. A big thank you to the girls and the staff, it was short but intense,” Plak writes.
According to Plak, “the conditions in Rome were not sufficient to optimally prepare me for qualifying for the 2024 Games.” The Dutch team still has to secure a ticket for the Games in Paris.
Plak previously played in the Italian league and in Japan. She was enthusiastic about returning to Italy last summer. “It is a team that is known for playing with soul and passion and I like that. And it is a unique opportunity to live in Rome.”
It is not yet known what Plak will do next.
