Will Liverpool FC approach Borussia Dortmund as part of their transfer planning? The Reds are said to have a BVB star in their sights. The rumor is not entirely new.
According to the Spanish portal “todofichajes”, Liverpool FC is interested in Donyell Malen. The plan is to have the attacker play alongside Darwin Nuñez, Luis Diaz or Cody Gakpo in the future.
Malen could act as a possible successor to Mohamed Salah at Anfield. The club legend is repeatedly linked with a potential move to Saudi Arabia. Salah still has a contract with the Premier League club until 2025.
Malen is even tied to BVB for another season. The 24-year-old is one of the indispensable permanent staff under Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic.
Donyell Malen impresses after initial difficulties at BVB
“Sport Bild” had already reported at the end of September that Reds team manager Jürgen Klopp was said to have “keen an eye” on Malen. In this context, the sports magazine speculated that BVB might only “flinch” if they received an offer of over 60 million euros. Otherwise, the German runner-up should have no interest in selling. After all, Malen is one of the Westphalians’ most reliable offensive players.
The Dutchman moved from PSV Eindhoven to the black and yellow in the summer of 2021 for around 30 million euros.
At first Malen stumbled in the BVB uniform. During the past season, however, the attacker’s knot broke.
Confusion about FC Bayern’s interest
The portal “fichajes.net” claimed around a month ago that Malen had also become the focus of FC Bayern.
According to information from “Bild”, the Dortmund professional is currently “not an issue at all” with the German record champions.
