National coach Julian Nagelsmann announces his squad for the final international matches of the 2023 national soccer team on November 10th. According to media reports, Manuel Neuer will not be there.
The DFB selection will play against Turkey in the Berlin Olympic Stadium on November 18th (8:45 p.m.) and three days later against Austria in Vienna. To prepare for the games, Nagelsmann and his players move into quarters near the DFB campus in Frankfurt/Main.
Nagelsmann successfully played his first games as national coach against the USA (3:1) and Mexico (2:2). Before the home European Championship from June 14, 2024, there will be two international test matches next March and probably another two games in direct preparation for the tournament after the end of the national leagues.
Newer probably not there yet
According to a report in “Sport Bild”, goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will not be back at the November games. The long-time captain celebrated his comeback in goal for FC Bayern last weekend; Neuer played his last international match to date in the preliminary round exit at the World Cup in Qatar at the end of 2022. The number one player in the DFB selection is currently Marc-André ter Stegen from FC Barcelona.
