The two promising teams fought bravely against the top teams in the first division. Young AZ was ahead of FC Emmen for a long time, but was defeated in injury time: 2-1. Young Ajax played a nice match, but leader Roda JC ultimately proved to be too big and also lost 2-1.
In Emmen, coach Jan Sierksma’s team took the lead after ten minutes of play. Jayden Addai was again accurate for the Alkmaar promises and already scored his ninth goal of the competition. A stunt seemed to be in the making on the Oude Meerdijk. Jong AZ held on with all its might and played a hell of a match. Yet the score was 2-1 in the seventh minute of injury time. Once again Vlak was accurate for the number four of the first division.

At Jong Ajax, Yuri Rose was on the bench for the first time as ultimately responsible. He was moved on after Dave Vos temporarily worked as an assistant to Hedwiges Maduro.

Ten minutes after the break, Walid Ould-Chikh, the loanee from FC Volendam, still shot the Limburgers to victory. The attacking midfielder already scored his sixth goal of the season for Roda JC.
