NHL’s young superstar in a wild blow – Nothing like it has been seen in 30 years

Jack Hughes has started the new NHL season in a great way.

New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes22, is in incredible shape in the NHL.

Hughes scored 0+3 power points when the Devils suffered a 4-6 loss against the Washington Capitals early Thursday morning Finnish time. Hughes has now scored 4+13=17 power points in six matches.

A point production like Hughes has not been seen in the NHL for a while. In fact, for 30 years.

In the previous game, the US star became the first player since Mario Lemieux to score at least 14 points in the first five games. Lemieux scored 17 points in the first five games of the 1992-94 season.

The first period of the Devils and Capitals match went to the visitors. Washington got to the break with a 3–0 lead when Anthony Mantha, Dylan Strome and Sonny Milano managed to score.

In the second period, it was the Devils’ turn to forge goals as they scored four hits. Tyler Toffoli hit twice and Timo Meier mixed Nico Hischier once.

In the final set, the Capitals won for themselves, when Strome completed his second hit of the night and Connor McMichael mixed Alexander Ovechkin succeeded in scoring.

Hughes took a hard tackle at the end of the game when the Capitals Martin Fehérváry riveted the young star against the side.
